Scott Hazelcorn Children’s Foundation Board of Directors

Janice Hazelcorn - Executive Director

Janice, Scott's mother, serves as the Chairperson of the Executive Committee of the Foundations' Board. Janice is responsible for coordinating the operations of the Foundation with the Board's policies. She is a dental hygienist and an interior designer.

Charles Hazelcorn - President, Treasurer and Board Member

Chuck, Scott's father, is a Managing Director at the New York office of American Express Tax and Business Services, Inc. He is both a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner. He currently serves as a senior member in his firm's Litigation Consulting Group.

Susan Berlin - Board Member

SUSAN I. BERLIN, MSW, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker and psychoanalytic psychotherapist, with a private practice in Highland Park, New Jersey. During the past 24 years Ms. Berlin has worked with a varied population, including children and adults dealing with grief and bereavement and loss issues. She also holds a NJ State Teacher's license, and has taught courses at Rutgers, The State University, as a visiting part time instructor. Ms. Berlin has served as Camp Haze's licensed therapist, during the past three summers.

Ron F. Reis - Secretary and Board Member

Ron is a CPA Managing Director, American Express Tax & Business Services. Ron heads the Not-For-Profit Services Group in the New York office.

Bill Berlin - Board Member

Bill Berlin is Professor of Political Science at Montclair State University, as well as a widely published writer and Emmy award-winning television producer. He is the author of two books along with numerous articles on such issues as health, housing, and public affairs. For the past 17 years he has been Senior Producer/Writer for Caucus: New Jersey, the national award winning PBS public affairs series. Bill also serves as a member of the Foundation's fund raising committee.

Peggy Cohen - Board Member

Peggy Cohen has been with the Office of Cooperative Education at New Jersey City University in Jersey City, NJ since 1986, currently placing Business Administration, Computer Science, Economics, Biology, Chemistry and Geoscience majors. She has experience placing Music, Media, Art and English majors in co-op jobs, as well. Prior to her tenure at NJCU, Peggy worked in sales, as a teacher for the New York City Board of Education, and as a VISTA Volunteer in California and Indiana. Peggy holds a Master’s Degree in Psychology from New Jersey City University and a BA in Speech Therapy from Brooklyn College, Brooklyn, NY.

Eric Hazelcorn - Board Member

Eric, Scott's brother, graduated Ramapo College, majoring in Environmental Studies and is a member of the Foundation's fund raising committee. Currently, Eric works for Americorp at the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.

Rich Whalen - Board Member

Rich, one of Scott's closest friends, is the Executive Producer at RAPP Worldwide, a direct marketing firm in New York. Rich is a camp counselor / photographer during the summer camp and has won the coveted 'best bunk award' three summers in a row. He also holds the Camp Haze record for eating 14 grilled cheese sandwiches and 36 pickles in one sitting. A record some say will never be beaten.
